Author and Submission Guidelines

The International Journal of Interventional Psychology (IJIP) welcomes high-quality research articles, reviews, and case studies that contribute to the field of interventional psychology. Submissions must adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a smooth review and publication process.

  1. Manuscript Categories

IJIP accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles – Empirical studies with new findings in interventional psychology.
  • Review Articles & Meta-Analysis – Comprehensive overviews and critical evaluations of existing literature.
  • Case Studies – Detailed reports on clinical interventions and their outcomes.
  • Theoretical & Conceptual Papers – Articles proposing new frameworks, models, or perspectives.
  • Short Communications & Commentaries – Brief discussions on emerging trends and critical issues.
  1. General Formatting Requirements
  • Language: All submissions must be in English (U.S. or U.K. spelling, but consistent throughout).
  • Word Limit: 
    • Research articles: 3,000–7,000 words
    • Review articles: 4,000–8,000 words
    • Case studies: 2,000–5,000 words
    • Short communications: Up to 2,500 words
  • Font & Spacing: 
    • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
    • Line spacing: 1.5
    • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
  • Referencing Style: APA (7th edition)
  1. Manuscript Structure

A typical research article should follow this structure:

  1. Title page – Title, author names, affiliations, and contact details of the corresponding author. This should be a separate page as we are going for a double blind review process. Do not include author names or affiliations in running headers or footers.
  2. Abstract – The title to be added in this page. (Author name, affiliation, contact details etc. should notbe addd here). 150–250 words summarizing objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.
  3. Keywords – 4–6 relevant keywords.
  4. Introduction – Background, objectives, and research significance.
  5. Methods – Detailed methodology, including participants, procedures, and analysis.
  6. Results – Presentation of findings with appropriate tables and figures.
  7. Discussion – Interpretation, implications, and limitations.
  8. Conclusion – Summary of key points and recommendations for future research.
  9. References – Formatted in APA (7th edition).

Running headers and footers with author name is to be avoided to keep the anonymity for the reviewer.

  1. Submission Process
  • Manuscript Submission: All submissions must be made via the IJIP online submission portal.
  • File Format: Submit the manuscript as a Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) file. Figures and tables should be included within the manuscript.
  • Plagiarism Policy: Submitted work must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software.
  1. Peer Review & Publication Process
  • Initial Screening: The editorial team reviews submissions for compliance with guidelines and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Peer Review: Double-blind peer review by at least two experts in the field.
  • Decision & Revisions: Authors receive feedback and may be asked to revise and resubmit.
  • Acceptance & Publication: Once accepted, articles undergo final editing and are published online in the next available issue.
  1. Open Access & Copyright Policy
  • All articles are published under an open-access model, ensuring free accessibility worldwide.
  • Authors retain copyright but grant IJIP the right to publish their work under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
  1. Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to ethical research practices, including:

  • Obtaining informed consent for studies involving human participants.
  • Complying with institutional and ethical board approvals.
  • Clearly disclosing conflicts of interest and funding sources, if any.

  1. Manuscript as mentioned above (Title page and content page in separate files, in MS word (.doc or .docx) file. Do not include author names or affiliations in running headers or footers.
  2. Submission Form

(The submission form can be downloaded from the site. Fill it up, sign it and send the scanned copy of the filled up form)

In cases of suspected research or publication misconduct, it may be necessary for the Editor to contact and share manuscripts with third parties, for example, author, institution, and ethics committee. 

Articles may be withdrawn if there is clear evidence of research misconduct involving them that has been published or if their scientific integrity has been seriously compromised.

All manuscripts submitted to IJIP will be treated confidentially by editors. IJIP will not share manuscripts with third parties outside of our Editorial board except in cases of suspected misconduct.
