Review Process

Initial Screening

  • Each submission is reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief /Executive Editor /Managing Editor/Associate Editor for:
Relevance to the scope of IJIP.
    Compliance with author guidelines.
Originality and plagiarism check (using plagiarism detection software).
  • Then it is sent to one of the editorial board member for recommendations. If it is recommended, it is sent to the review process by the Editor-in-Chief.

Peer Review Process

IJIP follows a double-blind peer review process:

  • Manuscripts are assigned to two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject.
  • Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
    • Scientific rigor and methodology.
    • Theoretical and practical contributions.
    • Clarity, coherence, and organization.
    • Ethical considerations.
  • Reviewers provide constructive feedback, and recommendations include:
    ✅ Accept without revisions
    ✅ Minor revisions required
    ✅ Major revisions required
    ❌ Reject (with reasons)

The Associate Editor consolidates reviewer feedback and informs the author regarding the revisions required if any.

The revised manuscript will be scrutinised by the editorial board member and recommends it to the Editor-in-Chief.

The Editor-in-Chief  in consultation with the Executive Editor  make the final decision and notifies authors.

Review Appeal

Papers that have been rejected have a formal appeal option available to them. Requests for appeals must be made in writing, not over the phone, and must include the term "appeal" in the subject line. They should be sent by mail addressing the Editor- in – Chief. The appeal will be considered by the Editor in chief and other pertinent editors, and the journal's decision will then be regarded as final. This process may take some time and during this period the manuscript cannot be submitted to another publication venue. Authors must include thorough justifications for their appeals as well as point-by-point responses to the reviewers' and/or Academic Editor's criticisms. Authors should also be aware that priority is given to new submissions to the journal and so the processing of the appeal may well take longer than the processing of the original submission. If an appeal is rejected, further appeals of the decision will not be considered and the paper can’t be resubmitted.

All manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism with DrillBit
